Summer Reading Assignment: 

“Mercy Watson to the Rescue” by Kate DiCamillo                 

“Nate the Great” by Marjorie Weinman Sharmat 

After reading both books, please pick your favorite book and complete the story map. Parts of a story and making a story map is a big part of second grade. Do your best and don’t forget, use your best handwriting!

Please bring the story map with you on the first day of school!

In addition to the summer reading, your child must complete the Math packet and practice trick words that they have learned in Kindergarten and First Grade. They can practice their trick words on a white board, with chalk outside, a paint brush with water outside, playdoh, or any other creative way you come up with.

Summer Math Assignment: 

Please complete the Math packet that was given to you during the last weeks of first grade. All of the pages of the Math packet is a review of what was learned in first grade. Do Your Best!
