End of the Year Testing:
This year the Office of Catholic Education of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia has launched a new initiative related to final assessments. Rather than facilitating the traditional “Finals” that assess the entire year’s worth of material, we are moving to using three assessments throughout the year, one at the end of each Trimester, testing only the material from that Trimester. Next week we will be administering the 3rd Trimester Assessment as a way of rolling out the program on a small scale. The tests have been created by a Curriculum Committee consisting of teachers from all levels from schools throughout the AOP. They are relatively brief and to be used mainly as a way of determining each student’s mastery of the standards taught in a particular trimester. Although it is not required by the Archdiocese that the test is graded, some of our teachers may choose to include it as a third trimester test grade.

Friday, June 5 - Last full day of school for the year. Last day of CARES for Grades 1-8
