History of Hockey since 1960
Hockey apparently began In 1960 but had got off to a slow start in 1970.
The mention of Improved results refers to "losing by less than 9 goals".
In 1968 the first hockey Colours was awarded, followed by the first Honours awards In 1971.
By 1973 there was five open teams and In 1975 Saints 1st XI won the Aitken Trophy.
Saints produced its first U21 Hockey Springboks In 1978: Trevor Aitken and Tich Crichton, followed by Adrian Budd In 1981 and N Wilson in 1983.
In 1987 Saints boys toured to the UK and Belgium as part of a combined Kestrels side.
In 1988 Reggie Nxumalo played for the Southern Transvaal senior side, Ha and Kruben Naidoo were both awarded hockey Honours.
In 1989 three further boys were chosen for the Transvaal team.
