Welcome to the Boys' College Football Club
“Sport has the power to change the world,” Mandela said. “It has the power to inspire. It has the power to unite people in a way that little else does. It speaks to youth in a language they understand. Sport can create hope where once there was only despair.”
The Football programme at the Boys’ College is designed to provide learners the opportunity to drive themselves towards wanting to better and improve their knowledge and capabilities in the code of Football.
It provides us as a cohort of coaches and learners the opportunity to share positive ideas and philosophies, thereby creating a mind-set of a rounded team willing to embrace change, having the power to inspire and fighting to achieve a common goal in a safe and fostering environment. Learners will also have the opportunity to partake in all major age group competitive tournaments. This will allow learners the chance to compete against the best footballers in their age group.
Our mission is to develop not only academic success, but also well-rounded students. Athletic success is often underpinned by academic success. The football programme will encourage all learners to apply determination, honesty and hard work to their lives, both on the field and off. This leads to improving the knowledge of school leaders and sportsmen, leading to an exciting all round educational experience and way of life.

Football for me is everything. I believe that it truly is the sport for everyone. The countless memories of not only victory, but times of suffering are what make this sport truly special. It is the times where we are at our lowest which mould us together as a team. Chemistry builds. Relationships become stronger. Brother’s are made.
When I step onto that football field, A fire sparks within me which quickly turns into what feels like a wildfire. This is because I know that I am not playing for myself but for my teammates who work extremely hard, for the other 750+ boys who are backing our team to become victorious, the 750 boys who have pledged to uphold the saints badge.
It is truly an honour to represent the school in the football space and that is why I accept nothing less than 100% from everyone.
In order to be the best of the best, you have to be willing to do things that 99% of others would not do. You have to be willing to work without looking at the clock, push your self to your absolute limits regardless of how you feel, and through all of this, remember that the pain that you may feel today will be the strength you feel tomorrow.
