St Modan's HS Vision, Values and Aims

As a community of faith and learning, we are committed to the education and nurture of our young people in a welcoming, inclusive and Christ-centred environment.

United by our core values, our mission is to develop every young person physically, socially, morally, spiritually and intellectually.

Through the teaching of Gospel values, we strive to ensure that every member of our community grows in wisdom and grace.

In partnership with our families, parishes and Primary schools St Modan’s High School aims to create a community of faith and learning where:

Transition Information Key Dates

For your information only, every year we agree a timetable to share information with the primary schools as part of the process of compiling all of our records for next session. The process involves Primary 7 and Support for Learning primary colleagues completing paperwork for us in advance of face-to-face meetings with PSD and ASN.  The calendar for meetings will start in February.

From Christmas to the end of the summer term, we will try to send a representative to any Staged Intervention meetings if requested to do so by the primary school. If we are unable to attend, we will ensure that we get a copy of all paperwork following the meeting.

We have also agreed a secure method for the transfer of GIRFEC paperwork with all of the primary schools.

Supporting Wellbeing

Some young people may be feeling anxious about the move to high school. Even in a normal year with transition visits, this is understandable.  With so much uncertainty this session, we have worked with Stirling Council Educational Psychology Service to compile an extra P7 transition booklet to support. This has been shared with the Learning Community Primary 7 staff, but other young people might also like to have a look.
