St Margaret’s is a village school situated 4 miles to the east of Stirling. We believe that within our school we have created a caring and concerned community, based on the Gospel Values. All children are valued and encouraged to develop their full potential, in well-ordered and stimulating surroundings.
We aim to educate our pupils for the 21st Century, encouraging them intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. We want our children to become happy, industrious and well-adjusted members of society.
In August 2016, we moved in to a new building located in 'Berryhills' part of Cowie.
The school provides denominational primary education for children of parents living in Cowie and the neighbouring villages of Fallin, Plean and Throsk. These are local communities which have their history in the mining industry and as a result have experienced major economic upheaval since the early eighties. It is, however, a community that is beginning a process of regeneration, with significant new private housing growth in the area.
As a school we continue to foster strong links with Cowie Primary School, Cowie Nursery and the local community. We continue to work closely within the St Modan’s High School Cluster in order to meet the challenges and expectations presented by our children and their community.
At St. Margaret’s we aim to help children develop in their journey of faith in a positive learning environment. We believe that our school will make a valuable contribution to their development. It is a caring environment where children develop their many talents. We recognise the importance of educating the ‘whole’ child. Academic excellence for all children is one of our goals but we also try to nurture those special gifts which makes each child unique.
Home/School/Parish links are vital! We value the contribution to school life that parents make and the support offered by our local parish. Together, we ensure that St. Margaret’s remains a very special place.
At St. Margaret’s Cowie we aim to be a truly inclusive school. As a team we actively seek to remove barriers to learning and endeavour to provide learning opportunities that lead to success for all. To ensure that all learners are given equal opportunities to achieve and succeed and are fully involved in all aspects of school life.
