Welcome to the dedicated transition site for our P1 intake for August 2025.
We recognise that starting school is such a special time for children and their families. We hope that the information you find here allows the transition from nursery to school to be as relaxed as possible, to ease worries and to ensure a positive start.
Please take time to explore this page and our main school website and check back regularly for updates.
Welcome to the Raploch family, we are so glad you are joining us.
We know that children in the early years learn best by actively doing. Every day we are learning through play - both adult directed and child led.
We have worked hard to develop our environments and you will notice some similarities to nursery with lots of play provocations.
We have a robust transition programme planned to ensure your child feels comfortable and familiar with the school environment.
We hope you will work in partnership with your child's nursery to ensure your child is able to attend as many of the planned activities as possible.

We use a values-based approach and our values of Ready, Kind and Safe are embedded in our practice. They are spoken about regularly and pupils are encouraged to follow our values at all times.
Children are dropped off and picked up from their classroom door. The P1 classrooms are at the garden side of the school next to the Glendevon Drive entrance.
We operate a staggered start on the first day of school to allow parents/carers to come into the classroom to help settle children. We know what a special day it is and will ensure every effort is made to make it feel that way and create lovely memories. Further information on Day 1 of P1 2024 will be shared closer to the time.
Water bottle
School bag
Wellies (we would really appreciate if if a pair of wellies could be left in school to allow us never to miss an opportunity to jump in puddles)
Children come to school wearing their gym kit on gym days - school sweatshirts/cardigans should still be worn. You will be notified by your child's class teacher when gym days are.
Packed lunch (if not having a school lunch)
Morning snack (healthy and no nuts)
Our uniform supplier is Logo Express in Stirling. Uniform can be ordered via their website - https://www.logoxpres-schoolwear.co.uk/Raploch-Primary/
We also have a healthy stock of pre-loved uniform. This will be available to parents during our transition events.
All children in P1-5 are entitled to a free school meal. There are 2/3 choices most days and the children choose their lunch each morning with their class teacher. We are very grateful if parents/carers take the time at home to discuss lunch choices with children. The lunch menu can be found on Stirling Council webiste or on our School App. Children may also choose to bring a packed lunch. Please note that we have several children in our school with severe nut allergies and therefore are a nut fress school. Please keep this in mund when providing snacks and packed lunches.

You will be given a login for Seesaw when your child starts school. This is the app you will use to see what your child has been learning in school and you are also able to message the teacher.
Of course you will. All children who have enrolled and live within our catchment area and all those outwith our catchment area who have been successful in their placing request will be involved in transition regardless of what nursery they currently attend.
We have contacted all nurseries and childcare providers who have children transitioning to us and we will continue to ensure we link during this important time.
We know that our younger children often don't give us a lot of warning before they need the toilet! Children who need the toilet are allowed to go. Children should simply ask their class teacher who will let them go. Children are encouraged to go to the toilet at breaktimes and lunchtimes as we recognise they don't want to be missing out on learning that is happening in class.
Children have access to the toilet at outdoor breaktime and lunchtime. They can simply let the adult playground helper know that they are going.
If your child is not well enough to attend school please notify us at the earliest opportunity via email raplochps@stirling.gov.uk or you can call us on 01786 272320.
If your child feels unwell during the school day we will contact you to ask you to come and collect them. Please ensure our office has the most up to date contact details for you and your nominated emergency contacts.
We will look after them. Trips, scrapes, bumps and bruises can happen during the school day and your child will be cared for and given the necessary first aid. Your child will also be given a first aid slip to take home to inform you of the details of the accident and treatment received.
We phone home for all head bumps and for injuries which need further investigating or are causing distress.
Children should be brought to their classroom door for 9.00am start and collected promptly at 3.00pm.
We would love to help you and by asking us directly you can be assured that information is accurate.
Please email the school raplochps@stirling.gov.uk and your email will be passed to the relevant person.
