Social Justice Ambassadors
This year, Primary 7 have taken on the role of Social Justice Ambassadors. Read below to find out about the different groups and how we're making a positive difference in our school and wider community.
Spreading Christmas Joy
The social justice ambassadors will be spreading Christmas joy around Cornton by
creating Christmas cards to send to people who support our school
singing Christmas carols outside Wallace View Care Home
holding a Start Up Stirling Christmas food drive. Donations can be brought into school during December. The last day for collection is Friday 17th December.
Chromebook Library
Isla, Mark, Marcell, Jack A, Jessica-Kate are working hard to ensure that all children who want to access learning at home can. They will make Chromebooks available to borrow to support home learning.
Tuck Shop
Tom, Aidan, Seb, Arran, and Sultan are developing a school tuck shop. This will offer healthy snacks at an affordable price. The tuck shop group is keen to develop a cashless system where tokens can be used and distributed where needed. Any profits will be used to support the other social justice ambassador groups.
Fareshare
Anya, Xander, Aleisha, Jack Hibbert, and Sean are working with Gen to maintain our fare share program. This provides healthy snacks to all classes and Tuesdays. There is also additional food that can be distributed where needed.
Stationary
Frankie, Lucy, Marco, Bethany, and Zack are developing a stationary donation station in school. This will aim to provide additional stationery in classes that children can take home, additional class resources for creative arts, and provide new P1 children starting at our school with a pencil case and a small supply of stationery.
Literature
Ruby, Nora, Ethan, Marley, Shaun are developing a school library borrowing system. They hope to have afterschool playground library borrowing boxes. They hope this will help more children access a wide variety of books and read more for pleasure. This ties in with the work of the Cornton Primary School Reading Leaders who are hoping to achieve the reading schools award this year. They also want to encourage families to donate unwanted books to help them hold more regular books swaps for all classes.
Uniform Bank
Melanija, Naomi, Oli, and Bailey are helping to maintain and develop our school uniform bank. They'll work with Gen to ensure everyone can access good quality school uniforms and reduce clothing waste. They also hope to develop the school uniform bank and offer a wider selection of clothing and accessories. They will also be accepting donations for the upcoming Christmas jumper day. If you have any preloved Christmas jumpers please hand them in to school before December 10th.
