Using the code dkwwkuv, your son or daughter should be able to access the Google Classroom and engage with the activities as detailed in the flyer opposite. On this page we will upload all of the posts and activities to allow you to see what activities we are doing. At this difficult time, we understand that the pressures of home schooling, so these activities are by no means compulsory. We would love for your son or daughter to dip into them and take part when they feel they can. The emphasis is on building relationships with BBHS staff and of course, fun!
Monday 12 May
Our Monday Catch Up sees Mr Boyce showing off his Lego skills. We would love to see the wonderful things that all our P7 pupils have been doing to keep busy during these difficult times. Watch Mr Boyce's video opposite and use THIS FORM to tell us about the wonderful things you've been creating during your time at home.

Tuesday 13 May
Our first Tuesday Challenge by Miss Craig involves origami. all you need is a piece of paper. Miss Craig tried it with blank printer paper and wrapping paper. You can also use newspaper or a page from a magazine - any rectangular piece of paper.
This LINK contains the picture instructions and a video - whichever you find easier to follow.
Miss Craig used the picture instructions and then the video for the end part. Her second attempt was definitely better! Post a comment on the Google Classroom to let us know how you did.

Wednesday 13 May
Good afternoon P7 pupils and parents,
We know this is a really strange time for everyone and there is a lot of things that have been really different over the last few weeks.
Some people might be coping with this in different ways so we think that this video contains a really nice message for our Wednesday motivation.
Take care, Miss Craig

Monday 18 May
Good afternoon P7 (and parents),
It's been great to see all the pictures and videos that you've been sending to show what you've been doing during this time. You can see a selection of them in the picture opposite.
As some of you may know, it's Mental Health Awareness Week this week and we , as a school community, are taking part in a 5-Day Kindness Challenge. It would be great if you could join in.
Here's the FORM so you can continue to upload images or videos to show us what you've been doing this week. This could be from the 5-Day Kindness Challenge or anything else you have been doing.
Take Care, Miss Craig
Tuesday 19 May
Good afternoon P7 (and parents),
This weeks challenge is a balancing act! I read the instructions online and thought 'that might be too easy'. I was wrong. I have to admit, I only managed three - I blame my forks. (Photo is Mr Boyce's attempt - 4 - 1 better than Miss Craig - #justsaying)
Fork Stacking Challenge
How tall can you stack forks before they fall over? Grab all the metal or plastic forks you can to complete this challenge. Make sure all your forks are the same size and made from the same material.
1. Start by placing one fork face-down on a flat surface.
2. Stack the next fork so the pronged part is on top of the handle from the first fork.
3. Continue alternating the direction of the forks.
4. For your tower to count, it must stand on its own for five seconds.
The highest stack declared by pupils so far is 9 - can you beat it?
Have a good day! Miss Craig
Wednesday 20 May
Good afternoon P7 (and Parents),
You might be aware that it's Mental Health Awareness Week this week. The focus is on being kind and this video tells you a little bit about why that's so important.
We also have our 5 Day Kindness Challenge which I posted on Monday and added to this post. I'd love to hear about what you've been doing to be kind to your family and friends.
I hope you are having a good day, Miss Craig

Monday 25 May
Good afternoon P7,
The theme for our virtual show and tell this week is pets!
I have a cat - her name is Cleo and is one and half years old.
Mr Boyce has a dog called Buddy - you will get to see Buddy when you join us in August!
You can use this form to submit any pictures/videos of your pets, family members pets or animals you love.
You could also comment on this post and tell me about your pets (or a pet you would like to have) or your favourite type of animal!
Take care, Miss Craig
Tuesday 26 May
Good afternoon everyone,
Another boat themed Tuesday challenge (last one involving boats I promise).
Using some tinfoil, fold it into the shape of a boat - there are some ideas in the picture - and make sure it floats.
Test how strong your boat is by adding weight to it (I used 2p but you could use any type of coin - you could also use anything you can find in the house)
I tried a few times and my highest was 16 2p coins - it sank with the 17th.
Let me know how you get on! Miss Craig
Wednesday 27 May
Good afternoon P7,
For our Wednesday motivation - I thought I'd share a quote with you that I really like. It's from my favourite book series (and I'm sure a lot of you will recognise which one).
"It is our choices Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities."
I think this is important for all of us to remember and you will also see this quote in our Pupil Support Centre when you join us in August - a sneak peak is attached!
I hope you've had a good day.
Take care, Miss Craig
Thursday 28 May

Monday 1 June
Good afternoon everyone,
I have loved seeing all the pictures that some of you have sent showing your pets. I've attached a picture showing them all.
We've also got some great pictures of what you have been doing to include next week. Please keep adding photos of anything you have been doing - it's great to see what you enjoy.
If you aren't sure how to upload a photo you can follow these instructions; Click on the Monday Primary 7 Catch Up form and fill in your name and select which primary school you go to. Then click 'add file' and choose 'select files from your device' which should allow you to select the photo you want to upload.
Please let me know if anyone isn't sure what to do. I hope you enjoyed your weekend!
Take care, Miss Craig
Tuesday 2 June
Hi everyone,
Our first (but not last) food themed challenge! You will need either a packet of Skittles or M&Ms - apparently it'll work with other coated sweets so if you have an idea you could try it.
You don't have to try this today so just whenever you are next in a shop you could pick up a packet of sweets. One small bag is more than enough to do a plate (and have a few left over).
Click on the 'Tuesday Challenge' image for instructions - I've included photos of my attempt.
Please encourage your son or daughter to let us know, via Google Classroom, how they got on.
Best wishes, Miss Craig
Wednesday 3 June
Good afternoon P7,
Today for our Wednesday motivation, I thought I'd share this quote with you.
Lots of people have been using the question form to ask about joining S1 which is great. There are quite a few questions that focus on being worried about joining us or if there are lots of bullies in high school or that not all of your friends are coming to Bannockburn High.
All of you will be able to impact how other people in your year group feel. Some of you might be really nervous about coming to high school and others might not. Some of you will be coming from bigger primary classes and others are not.
It's really important that we all treat each other with respect and understand that everyone will be feeling differently.
I think that this is a really good quote to try and follow.
Take care, Miss Craig
Thursday 4 June
Hi everyone,
Continuing with our staff introductions we have messages from Mrs Chalmers and Mrs Dunsmore.
Take care, Miss Craig
Mr McCluskey
Mr McCluskey is one of our art teachers and is looking forward to meeting you all and enjoying creating some wonderful art.
Mr Paterson
Hello. We are very much looking forward to meeting you all after the summer holidays in the PE department. We can't wait to see all the different skills and talents that you will bring to Bannockburn High School and showcase in all different forms.
Friday 5 June
Another Friday, another fun QUIZ from Miss Craig. I hope you are all making this a Friday night event during this time.
Have a lovely weekend and we'll see you back on Monday for some exciting announcements about more Transition Events.
Take care, Mr Boyce
Monday 8 June
Hi everyone,
I'm really enjoying seeing all the images that you upload to show what you are doing throughout this time.
It would be really good if you could keep uploading any pictures to show what you have been up to!
Let me know if you need any help to upload a picture.
Take care, Miss Craig
Tuesday 9 June
Good afternoon P7,
A choice of challenges today depending on what you can get or have in the house - you definitely don't have to try this today.
Tower building - using either wooden toothpicks and marshmallows or plastic cups (definitely plastic as they fall quite often!)
You can also use dry spaghetti and marshmallows.
My cup attempt was much better with 6 cups (it fell on the 7th) whereas my other tower barely made it to three stories.
Let me know how you get on
Take care, Miss Craig
Wednesday 10 June
Welcome to day 1 of our virtual transition days. Mr Boyce starts the day with an Assembly, and you can watch it by clicking on the video to the left. There will also be lessons posted from our different faculty areas on the Google Classroom. So, please encourage your son or daughter to log in and give them a go. It's a great way to get ready for August and starting in S1.
Thursday 11 June
Day 2 of our virtual transition days start off with an Assembly from Miss Craig. Remember to keep checking back regularly today for more lessons to take part in from subjects around the school. We'd love to hear and/or see how your son or daughter is getting on, so please encourage them to comment and/or return any work in the Google Classroom.
Friday 12 June
Day 3 of our virtual transition day starts with a brief message from Mr Boyce and then a number of fun activities from lots of subject areas around the school. Well done to everyone who is taking part and please encourage your son or daughter to post any work they've done back to us on the Google Classroom. It's amazing to see such a lot of pupils interacting so well on the Google Classroom.
Sadly, that's our transition day over, but watch Miss Craig's message opposite about how proud she is and the change she has made from today to the Google Classroom. 2 more weeks of fun activities to go.
Have a lovely weekend and we look forward to seeing you on Monday.
Take care, Mr Boyce and Miss Craig
Tuesday 16 June
Good afternoon S1,
Our Tuesday challenge this week involves paper planes!
This website - https://www.foldnfly.com/#/1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-2 has a range of different types of plane you can make. They also have YouTube tutorials linked to each one if you want to follow along.
There are lots of different types (and different difficulty levels!) - I went with two easy ones because paper planes are not my strong point. Try to pick two designs and see which one flies better or the longest.
Let me know how you get on
Thanks, Miss Craig
