Miss Craig has prepared this video to answer all the questions we've been receiving. Thanks for all the wonderful questions and don't worry, there's still time to ask more questions and we will keep doing more videos as we get more questions. So, keep using this FORM to ask any new questions you may have.

School Uniform

Our uniform supplier shop, LogoXpres, has been closed, following the government advice on clothing shops; however, we're pleased to report that it is now taking online orders. They have posted some videos to help parents measure their son or daughter to make sure that the correct size is ordered. All the information is on their website and the information and order form is below.

Bannockburn High School Uniform Information - 2020.pdf

As I am sure you will agree, the benefits of a formal school uniform are recognised.

Wearing our school uniform:

  • plays a vital role in the safety of all our young people by allowing staff to identify visitors to the school.

  • indicates a sense of pride and identification with the school;

  • helps pupils form or enhance positive attitudes to school and school work;

  • protects our young people from the damaging impact of social distinction and ‘competitive’ dressing;

  • promotes the school’s identity in the community;

  • assists staff in the task of supervising pupils.

Only formal school shirts (with top buttons) should be purchased for school. Adapting the uniform to reflect current ‘trends’ is strongly discouraged: eg fashion t-shirts, belts and scarves, leggings, trainers, jeans/‘jean like’ trousers with studs, shorts, culottes, ¾ length trousers, blouses, gloves or hats (worn indoors), hooded, leather, denim, parka or ‘zipped’ jackets, inappropriate fashion footwear such as Converse boots or shoes, Doc Martins, Uggs etc.

We are waiting on the forms for Free School Meals/Clothing Grant Application, we’ll send them on as soon as they are available. You may qualify for it if you receive:

  • Income Support

  • Income based Job Seekers Allowance

  • Income related element of Employment and Support Allowance

  • Child Tax Credit but not Working Tax Credit

  • Child Tax Credit and Working Tax Credit Support under Part V1 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

  • Universal Credit

  • Council Tax or Housing Benefit

Further information for this will follow.

Please contact Miss Craig, PT Pupil Support, if you require any assistance or have any questions.

My child can't get access to the P7 Transition Google Classroom

Google Classroom is the method we use to approach online learning in Bannockburn High School in normal times, it has become a wonderful tool during these difficult times, but we recognise that it's difficult to get used to at the beginning. The Digital School Bag, on the front page of our official school website, has a number of different help sheets for both parent and pupil. By searching Google Classroom and inputting the code dkwwkuv your son or daughter will join the class and we will be able to help from there. Remember that they need to be signed into their @stirlingschools.net account on Google and your son or daughter's primary school teacher will be able to help with that. As always, if you have any questions, get in touch using the contact form at the bottom left of this website or by clicking HERE.

I would like to speak to a member of the High School staff to discuss the transition process.

Please either use the contact form on this website by clicking on the small i in the bottom left corner and clicking 'Contact' or the transition contact form by clicking HERE. Please ensure you provide us with a contact telephone number and we will call you as soon as possible. Remember, no question is too small. Remember, we may be calling from a withheld number as we don't have access to the school phones at this time.

My child is on Stage Intervention and I usually have a meeting with Primary School staff and High School staff to support transition, will this still go ahead?

Yes. It may take the form of a phone call or an online video meeting, but we will be making sure that we speak to all parents of pupils on Staged Intervention to ensure that the transition is as smooth as possible. If you would like to speak to Miss Craig or Mr Boyce before this meeting is held then please complete the contact form by clicking HERE. Please provide a telephone number and we'll call you as soon as possible.

Who should I contact if I have any concerns about my child when they are in Bannockburn High School?

Miss Craig is your son or daughter's Principal Teacher of Pupil Support in S1 and she will move up the school with the year group as they progress each year. She is your first point of contact for any concerns or queries, including questions about learning in a particular subject. If she doesn't know the answer, she will endeavour to find out and get back to you as soon as possible. Mr Boyce, Depute Head Teacher, is also happy to answer questions.

When will we receive information about what class my son or daughter is in for S1?

At the moment, Miss Craig is meeting with P7 Teachers in all of the primary school (virtually) to gather as much information as possible about how each young person learns. In preparation for when things return to normal, we will shortly be posting a questionnaire on the Google Classroom to ask your son or daughter to note down who they are friends with in their current Primary School. Your child can also note down who they are friends with in other schools. When we have little bit more information about how the reopening of schools will look we will then make up the classes based on that information and advice from colleagues in our partner primaries and try to guarantee that your son or daughter is in a class with at least one of the friends they have identified.
