Occupational Therapy

STILLWATER AREA PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Occupational Therapy services are provided to students who attend Stillwater area schools and district non-public sites. Services include pre-intervention consultation with the team, evaluation, direct and/or indirect intervention and adaptations. Services are determined following due process guidelines and regulations and are provided based on the child's Individual Education Plan (IEP), Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP), or Individual Interagency Intervention Plan (IIIP).

Students who are eligible for special education services under any of the primary disability categories may receive Occupational Therapy (OT) based on need and input from the Individual Education Plan (IEP) team. OT is defined as a related service by federal and state regulations so children receiving these services must have educationally related needs before they can receive OT. There is no specific eligibility criteria for OT because they are a related service.
