Mr. Diaz's Class

Welcome to Mr. Diaz's Math Class!

I would like to start off by saying welcome to my math class website. My name is Thomas Diaz. I am a mathematics teacher at Stillwater High School. The subjects I teach are Algebra I/II and Geometry. My love for math stems back as far as I can remember before I ever started school! Mathematics is all around us. From the buildings we live, work, and go to school in; to the cars, cell phones, and the computers we use every day. These are small reasons why I believe we need to have a better understanding about math and how we can use it.

I was born in Southern California where most my family lives, but I grew up in a small town East of Reno, Nevada called Fallon. I attended Churchill County High School and played many sports through my time there. I served in the Army as a Patriot Fire Control Operator/Maintainer before I attained my degree in education. I attended Oklahoma State University and received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Secondary Education - Mathematics while being a member of the most decorated wrestling team. I am a fan of athletics with high interests in wrestling. Some of the things I enjoy are teaching math (of course), actively participating in various sports, and spending time with my family. If you are currently in my class, I hope we can have a great time learning math.

I met my wife Bethany, New Years Day in 2011 and were married in June of 2013. We have 4 children and 2 dogs. Lexie is a 2021 Graduate. Emily is a 2022 Graduate. Jace is a 2023 Graduate. Anna would be attending SHS as a Junior. Zula and Teddy are the two dogs!

Here are the ways to contact me.
