Ms. Mense

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! I would like to take this time to introduce myself, my name is Michaela Mense, and I work with Saint Louis Counseling as a Clinical Therapist. I am happy to be here at St. Gabriel for another wonderful year and I look forward to serving you and your children. I wanted to let you know the many ways you may access counseling service for your children, and would encourage you to take advantage of the services- one of the many opportunities at school to help your children thrive and grow to their potential!

I have my Master degree in Social Work and I am working towards my licensure. St. Gabriel contracts with my agency, Saint Louis Counseling, to provide a social worker four days a week (Tuesday- Friday from 7:00-3:30). I am also available by appointment before and after school, if necessary.

I meet with students for a variety of issues related to school adjustment, emotional and social issues, family- related issues, or other things that may prevent a student from learning and growing. I meet with students at a time that works best for them, and our meetings are confidential. I will obtain permission from parents before I begin any counseling. In addition to individual counseling, I also meet with students in groups, do presentations in their classrooms, and am available to do classroom observations.

I am also available to meet any of you who may be interested in discussing concerns you have about your children- I know parenting can be challenging at times! Please feel free to call or set up an appointment to meet with me – I would like to help in any way possible. I also have many resources to which I may be able to refer you to, if necessary.

If you would like to reach me, you may email me at mmense@stgab.org, or call St. Gabriel 314-353-1229.

I look forward to serving you and your students this year at St. Gabriel. Thank you for all you do to support the school, faculty, and your children.

Sincerely,

Michaela Mense, MSW
