Mrs. Callison

My name is Ms. Callison and I am thrilled to be returning to St. Gabriel's this year. I am orginally from Tulsa, Oklahoma and attended Catholic schools in middle school and high school. Service to others has always been a huge part of my life and a driver in my decision to pursue social work in college. I first graduated from St. Louis University in 2004 with an undergraduate degree in Social Work. After graduation, I completed a year of Americorps working with migrant workers and homeless populations. I returned to SLU and got my Master's in Social Work in 2006. Following that, I worked in the areas of community mental health and substance abuse. I specialized in working with women recovering from trauma.

In 2013, I returned to SLU for more graduate classes in School Social Work and then worked in a charter school in the city. My son was born in 2014 and I enjoyed 7 years as a stay at home parent. Shortly after my 40th birthday, I decided to return to work. I am passionate about helping all children find success in school. I really enjoy teaching social emotional learning class and very much wish this curriculum was around when I was younger!

In my free time, I enjoy figure skating, cooking, organizing and decorating. I love spending time with my family and helping my son explore his many interests.

I am hear to help families feel welcomed, accepted and successful at St. Gabriel's. I understand brings upon challenges and unforeseen circumstances. Please do hesitate to reach out if you or your child need support.
