Tips for Tackling Math
Greetings Parents,
We want to share some tips and techniques to help your budding mathematician accomplish the WV math standards. Of course, our I-Ready program workspace is a great way to practice daily, but here are a few more ideas:
1. Spend time using the math flashcards created by the students.
2. Finding page numbers in a recipe book.
3. Prodigy math game.
4. Conversational Math. For example, have a conversation about math: If I need 2 cups of sugar for this recipe, and I have 1 cup, how many more cups do I need? Increase the complexity of your conversation as they master new concepts.
We hope you enjoy some of these tips!

NWEA Information
In the Fall students will take their 1st NWEA Language Arts and Math assessment. The NWEA is a unique tool used to measure growth. We look forward to sharing this information with you as soon as possible.
The night before the assessment, students should try to eat a hearty dinner, get a restful night’s sleep, and eat breakfast in the morning. We will take our assessment at approximately 9:40, so please pack a healthy snack.
If you would like to read more information about the NWEA, please see the attachment.
