Individual and Small Group

Individual Sessions

Individual counseling is available to all students at the request of teachers, families, or students. Students may also be referred to provide support during times of transition, heightened stress, before/during/after a crisis, relationship/social skill development, etc.

I am a resource to help students succeed in school. Individual support within the school setting is typically short-term. Students will often self refer and stop by the office. If students come to my office or self-refer more than a few times or their concern is of a serious nature, families are contacted.

I strive to be a trusted adult available to help students academically, socially, and emotionally.

Small Groups

Small groups provide students the opportunity to share and support one another. Students are able to have their experiences normalized and validated as they gain awareness they are not alone in feeling a certain way or going through a particular situation. Common experiences middle school kids share are often concerns about friendships, emotional regulation, stress and anxiety, social interactions, family changes, etc.

Small groups are facilitated based on the needs of our students. Groups often run 6-10 weeks and the group meets once a week for 30-40 minutes. Parent permission is required. Please contact me if you would like your student to participate in a small group.
