We plan on going with Method 1 because it offers the simplest and most cost-effective way of building an energy monitor. It's simple to use, and is cheap to implement paving the way for many users to utilize the platform. It uses widely available components, such as the ESP32 which is a tried and true basic sensor. The device will be a simple plug and play monitor which will send the data it collects real time to a mobile app and will measure current and voltage. These components will help us achieve a 95% accuracy with measurements, which is our target. By using a wall plug we'll be able to produce a device so simple to setup that anyone will be able to use it.
