An early 1988 home security patent establishing the idea of a system with multiple security zones and a main station that monitors remote intruder sensors throughout the home. When the sensors are triggered, the main station will activate an alarm and records the zone where the sensor is being triggered. Exterior lights are flashed to warn people outside of the home.

A second patent from 2006 is a more intelligent home security system, building on the traditional home security system established in the earlier patent. This system makes decisions in triggering alarms and contacting individuals and organizations via communication links. This system aims to pre-emptively reduce the likelihood of intruders breaking in. Further, the system captures photos at strategic times to aid in identifying and tracking intruders.
