To engineer a solution to translate between languages/accents easily.
Have you ever had an issue understanding someone else due to a language barrier? This is an extremely common issue and as of today, there are over 7,000 languages spoken around the world. It can be difficult to learn other languages, and instead of having to pull out your phone to look up a translating app, we wanted an alternative to making it easier to understand others more efficiently.
Something that is used almost every day is headphones to allow ourselves privacy when on calls, listening to music, etc., and knowing this we wanted to implement a headphone design similar to what we already use. It would work essentially the same as other smaller wireless earpieces, except whatever voices in a close enough range to the device will be picked up by the earpiece and translated into your earlobe playing whatever language you set as your origin, i.e., if someone is speaking English and you set Spanish as your origin language--you will hear Spanish.
Our product is set to enable users to have fluid conversations, with anyone they are talking to, regardless of what language they speak. The goal is to make the process almost simultaneous so that it is just as easy as having a conversation with someone with no language barrier.
Using data from the technological costs along with the prices of various competitors on the market today, we estimate that our product is to be worth around $300 USD as of release.
