The Senior Design 7 and 8 courses provide an opportunity for us showcase our skills by developing innovative projects that have practical applications. The current plan for these courses is to propose and develop a concept that can be marketed or utilized philanthropically or is of our significant personal interest.
While Gamify Sleep is a useful concept, its narrow scope and commonality limits its potential for commercial success or widespread philanthropic application. In order to compete with the wide range of projects presented during Senior Design, it is important to select a project with a broader scope and more significant potential impact.
Therefore, we propose that we the team revise our project proposal to focus on a more expansive concept that has the potential to attract a larger user base or address a critical need. This could involve identifying a pressing societal or environmental issue and developing a solution that utilizes engineering principles. Alternatively, we could consider developing a device or system that solves a common problem or improves upon an existing product in a significant way.
By selecting a project with broader scope and potential impact, we can demonstrate our ability to apply engineering principles to real-world problems and create innovative solutions that have the potential to make a meaningful difference. This will not only enhance the team's reputation and skill set but will also increase the likelihood of the project being recognized and adopted by potential investors or philanthropic organizations.
