2021-02-03 Completed Exercise 0 on creating a Google Site and GitHub Repository; studied the IEEE Editorial Style Manual
2021-02-08 Completed Lab 1 on installing Raspberry Pi OS on a Raspberry Pi 3B.
2021-02-20 Successfully set up the Raspberry Pi to send me the IPv4 address via email
2021-02-27 Met with my design group and brainstormed several ideas for the project. Two ideas included a smart lock which detects a nearby smartphone and automatically unlocks the door and a smart mirror which displays relevant information for the user when first looking at it in the morning. Looked over Lab 2 but did not have the appropriate materials to complete the lab.
2021-03-06 Attempted to complete Lab 2H using a USB audio interface but arecord --device=hw:0,1 was not working correctly. Installed and tested Python3 both on macOS and Raspberry Pi. Also tested geopy and was interesting to get real time information regarding sunset/sunrise times as well as various moon phases. Sent test email to school email for part 3B #3 but could not complete the rest of 3B due to lack of equipment. Successfully completed part 3E: Pypy and noted how the pypy had the longest completion time and interestingly python beat python3 by 0.045 seconds. Then successfully installed Doxygen and edited the annotated.html file.
Purchase several items from Amazon relating to Raspberry Pi labs (recommended to me by Robert Roettger) that are currently on the way:
2021-03-11 Successfully set up the Django server to view Weather Station information. Implemented "myraspi" and successfully reported CPU usage and temperature. When running "Memory Game" from the Alexa Developer Console, there was an error in which the skill began the memory game but asked the user to retype words instead of requesting numbers. For the last part, the apache server proved to be fairly simple to set up with WordPress.
2021-03-18 Completed Lab 5 regarding Crossbar.io, Eclipse Mosquitto, and Eclipse Paho. Updated Lab page to reflect progress made on the labs
2021-03-25 Completed Lab 6 and screenshots of the report can be found here. Lab 6B could not be completed as the code was not present on the IOT GitHub repository and 6C could not be completed due to errors with Particle as shown by the lab report.
2021-04-01 Completed Lab 7 and screenshots of the report can be found here. Both parts of the lab were completed successfully and without any errors. Google Sheets and Google Drive were more familiar products but ThingSpeak seems very niche in its IoT capabilities. Overall, using the Google Cloud Platform seemed to offer better monitoring solutions for this exercise.
2021-04-15 Completed Lab 9 (found here). There were some errors with Qiskit and the lab could not be completed in its entirety. The Easy-Lock team continued to work on the proposal by adding team photos and began the objective.
2021-04-22 Completed Lab 10 (found here). Continued working on the proposal and completed the Needs Assessment and Search for the Problem.
2021-04-29 The proposal gained further momentum as the Intellectual Property, Modeling and Abstraction, and Synthesis pages were completed
2021-05-06 The group finished the Ethics and product Liability, Hazard Analysis and Failure Analysis, and Design Analysis to finish off the proposal. The final website can be found here.
