*Note: The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) requires 3 social studies credits/units, as now reflected in the SCHS high school graduation requirements and as seen above. Many school systems teach Civics/American Government and Personal Finance and Economics as 0.5 credit courses; however, SCHS teaches these courses as 1.0 credit courses, meaning most students who graduate from SCHS will earn 4 total social studies credits -- 1.0 each in the following state required courses:  

• World History 

• Civics/American Government

• US History

• Personal Finance and Economics

CTAE and/or
Foreign Language and/or 

Fine Arts 3

Health and Personal Fitness ½ Health
½ Personal Fitness
Or 3 units of JROTC

Regarding foreign language:

Students should check with the admissions department of the desired post-secondary institution for information regarding additional requirements (i.e., most public 4-year institutions require 2 units of the same foreign language for admission.  Some out-of-state institutions require 3.).
