Dear Parents,
It's hard to believe that the school year is almost over! Thank you for sharing your sweet children with us. We have enjoyed watching them grow! Please encourage your child to continue practice cutting, writing their name, letters, numbers and read to him/her daily this summer. This will help with next years' transition into their new class!
We had an exciting week getting to watch our butterflies hatch from their cocoons! We were able to watch them on our screen live :). We will be releasing them in the School garden soon. We were able to observe and record data in our Butterfly Journals as well.
Nebraska Humane Society came to visit on Monday, May 12th. They brought their stuffed dog, Sparkles, and taught our class how to correctly ask to pet a dog! First, ask the owner to pet the dog...Second, Stand by the dog and let him smell you (do not stick out your hand for it to sniff)...and Lastly, pet the animals back not head or face. This is a great skill to learn! If you would like to donate to the Nebraska Humane Society you can visit online. They also love visitor and let them hand out treats and sit and read with the animals! They are in need of pet food, blankets and toys. No appointments are necessary.
