Erasmus+
student exchange program
Welcome to the website of the Erasmus+ exchange program of the 13th class of the Waldorf school in Ostrava, Czech Republic and the 12th class TSO of the Steinerschool in Gent, Belgium.
The mission of this exchange program was to design and build a tiny house with the two classes together. This allowed both schools to interchange good practices and experiences about the building of sustainable ecological housing. Additionally, the students broadened their horizon, discovered another culture and increased their independency skills since they had to live for two weeks in another country where they stayed at a guest family.
4 Weeks of team work
The design of the whole tiny house was made during the first mobility of the Belgian class to the Czech Republic in October 2021. This included materials choices, concept sketches and 3D computer dawings on scale. In addition, the students took trips around the area to get acquainted with the Czech culture and environment.
During the second mobility, in the March of 2022, when the Czech class came to Belgium, the tiny house was constructed. To increase efficiency, the students were devided into smaller groups to work on separate projects: construction of the tiny house, construction of the window frames and administration of social networks and project documentation. During that, the students also had the opportunity to work in other groups. In addition, students also had creative and educational classes to develop skills in other areas.
The whole Erasmus+ project ended with a public accessible final rhetoric and audiovisual presentation, which summarized our accomplishments.
On this website site you can discover all the team members, follow the detailed progress in daily reports with pictures, watch a movie of the exchange and discover interesting insight about the cities of Gent and Ostrava where the schools are located.
