Gerald Stewart has been a resident of the Village of Steger since November of 2000. Gerald Stewart was sworn in as a Village Trustee in September 2022, to fulfill the term of retired Trustee Mark Kozy.
Trustee Stewart began volunteer coaching in Steger in 2001. He was appointed the Director of Basketball in 2010 and the President of Steger Recreation in 2016, a position he held until his appointment as a Village Trustee. Trustee Stewart was the Basketball Coach from 2013 – 2019 at St. Francis de Sales High School.
Gerald grew up in Michigan on a 120-acre farm where he gained his work ethic. He graduated from White Cloud High School and later attended Aquinas College and majored in Economics. He is a General Contractor by trade for the past 37 years and a HUD Consultant for 21 years. He was instrumental in launching the Renovation Department at Wintrust Bank in 2007 and Guaranteed Rate in 2010. Gerald is currently holding the title of Public Works and Building Director for the Village of Robbins. As a Village Trustee, the Village of Steger Village Board has been able to use the benefits of Gerald's experiences in this position.
Gerald is married to his wife Jacquelene of 26 years and they have three adult children (one son and twin daughters). In his personal time, Trustee Stewart enjoys spending time with family, golfing and traveling.
Brittany Stone has been a member of the Steger community for most of her life, after her family moved to Steger in 1999. Brittany’s father, Roy Stone, is a dedicated member of the Steger Public Works Department with 22 years of continued service to the community. Brittany’s stepmother, Julie Stone, is a devoted fourth grade teacher for Steger School District 194 with more than 25 years of service to Steger’s youth.
Brittany is proud to have been able to grow up in a big family and attributes her passion for caring for others to her seven siblings. She attended Steger schools alongside her sister, Shelly, and two brothers, Ryan and Andrew, while her sisters, Stephanie, Ashley, Kourtney, and Hayley, attended Indiana Public Schools.
Brittany met her husband, Joseph Sarek, while attending Bloom Trail High School and they recently celebrated 16 years together. They are proud to be the parents of four phenomenal children, Camrin, Madilyn, Joseph and Jacob. Brittany is also proud to be the aunt of 11 extraordinary nieces and nephews.
After high school at Bloom Trail, she sought post-secondary education at Prairie State Community College. She completed three years, majoring in science, and received her CNA. Brittany also received academic honor recognition after successfully participating in Prairie State’s honors program.
Brittany was a Girl Scout, an active member of Immanuel Lutheran's Youth Group, and she participated in Steger's youth basketball program. She has also volunteered as a room parent and field trip chaperone for SD194 for seven years.
Brittany Stone is a Fire & Police Commissioner for the Village of Steger. As a Commissioner, Brittany is responsible for the hiring, promoting and discipline of the officers in the Steger Police Department. The Steger Police Department is the largest department of the Village of Steger.
A lifelong area resident, Tim Perchinski has lived in the Village of Steger since 1999. He is the proud Father of two daughters, Payton and Emma and Step-Father to his son Jake. Tim not only lives in the Village but he also has been operating his business, Perchinski Insurance Agency (Country Financial), in Steger since 2003.
Tim graduated from Bloom Trail High School and received an Associate’s Degree in Business Management and Supervision from Prairie State College in 1994. Tim also has received industry designations in Life Underwriters Training Council Fellowship in 2009 and Financial Service Specialists Designation from The American College in 2010. Tim is also very active in the community through coaching, mentoring and volunteering. Tim's other accomplishments:
