Rev. William Robinson

Years in Office: 1943-1946

Prior to his time at St. Edward’s, Father Robinson obtained a Ph.D. at Gregorian University in Rome, was a dogmatic theology professor at Catholic University, a philosophy professor at the University of Notre Dame, a novice master, and a retreat director. He displayed a great belief in the university's potential and defended it on numerous occasions. He became a proud Texan and saw an enrollment increase in spite of overall wartime challenges. Father Robinson also worked diligently to prevent students from feeling the effects of the era's challenges.
