Years in Office: 1952-1957
Originally from Pennsylvania, Brother Elmo graduated from Notre Dame and obtained his Ph.D. in educational psychology from Fordham University. He first came to campus in 1950 and served as director of the newly developed scholasticate. St. Edward's period of growth continued under Bransby, who oversaw the selling of parcels of land and ended a nearly eighty-year period of farming on university property. After leaving SEU he took a new assignment at the Eastern Vice Province.
