Evidence that proves a place is haunted is notoriously difficult to come by. Supposed supernatural events often only have a single witness, and, as their stories are told and retold, they tend to stray further and further from the truth of the event that inspired them - becoming something closer to folklore than fact.
There are no records in the archives any official paranormal investigations having ever taken place on campus.
Tragic historical events are often cited as the genesis of a ghost story. This is, in part, because dramatic events make for dramatic stories. Some folklorists have suggested that the ghost stories which spring out of such unfortunate events help a community process the trauma of the event.
Our campus has been in operation for over 130 years and, in that time, thousands of people have lived and worked on the Hilltop. That time has not been without tragedy.
