‘Guided by God to love, trust, hope, serve and inspire the best in everyone.’
Message from Mrs Mann...
Dear Parents, Carers and Children,
Welcome back to school everyone! So lovely to see all the children back so calm and settled! I do hope you all had a restful week and I would like to wish a Happy Diwali to all of our families who celebrated this recently.
The children of St Dunstan's Cheam have been very busy already with children in Year 5 and 6 taking part in a multisports event and children in Year 3 and 4 joining in an 'arrows' session. As always, our pupils represented our school extremely well. In addition to this, our school has been full of singing, dancing, reporting and other activities that are already up and running this week.
It has been my personal pleasure to give a presentation to the new trainee SENCOs at Kingston University this week, my thanks to the team there for inviting me back as a speaker for another year. It is always an honour to support and encourage new professionals on their journey.
Finally, I had the rare opportunity to hold three Blue Peter badges in my hand during Celebration Worship today. Well done to Yusuf in Year 6 and Bella in Year 4 for earning those as a result of their extremely well-written letters to Blue Peter. We are very proud of you.
We are all looking forward to tonight's Glowtastic Disco, organised and run by the PTFA - our thanks to them for their time and support, we appreciate you very much.
I hope you have a lovely weekend and I look forward to seeing many of you at the Eucharist Service for children in Key Stage 2 at church on Monday 11th November at 10:15am.
Reflection:
Then Jesus told them, “You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going. Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light.”
In Worship, we have been thinking about Diwali and the importance of light in Hinduism and Christianity. We have been reflecting on how we can shine our own light and light the way for others.
We need your help...
