Homework is meant to give students a chance to practice skills, finish work, and build responsibility.
Homework is assigned Monday through Friday.
Students should expect about 20–30 minutes of homework each night.
Students may have additional work when they have makeup work to complete.
Homework may include reading, spelling practice, finishing classwork, or occasional Religion or Social Studies work.
Assignments are written in the student assignment notebook.
Please provide a consistent time and place for homework and encourage your child to complete their work independently.
You are always welcome to check that homework is finished, but the goal is for students to take responsibility for knowing what they have to do and bringing it back to school.
If homework is regularly taking much longer than 30 minutes, please let me know.
Students will complete missing homework the next day. Clear deadlines will be given for assignments.
If homework becomes a repeated issue, I will reach out so we can work together to help your child get back on track.
Our goal is to help students become responsible, independent learners while remembering that they are still learning these skills.
