The In Deed and Truth Closing Summit, Standing in Truth: Faith, Narrative, and Resistance, hosted by the St. Charles Center for Faith + Action, in partnership with E Pluribus Unum, will bring together clergy, lay leaders, and community members to engage in courageous truth-telling, equip ourselves for the urgent work of justice, and strengthen networks of faith-inspired resistance to racism and injustice.
During the Summit, cohort members will celebrate the completion of their training and transformation experience, and transition from a program perspective to a systems-level perspective as the focus shifts to developing a shared vision and agenda for collective narrative change work.

You will be able to securely leave your luggage with the hotel front desk if you arrive before check-in.
If your flight gets in after 4 pm, please plan to travel directly to the event location, 7100 St. Charles Avenue in New Orleans, instead of stopping at the hotel first. We will have a secure place to store your luggage during the event and will bring you to the hotel afterwards.

The hotel is located near the South Market District - an area of the city with lots of dining options and other attractions. Here is a map with information.
The hotel is right on the downtown Streetcar line, one mode of public transit within New Orleans. Here is a Streetcar schedule. The Jazzy Pass, offered through the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority, is an all-day pass that gives you unlimited streetcar/bus/ferry access. Get more information here.
Hotel parking is available in the Self-Park Garage (not owned or operated by the Hyatt House). Parking rates start at approximately $35.00 + tax.
The St. Charles Center does not have a dedicated parking lot. There is free street parking on all streets surrounding the Center. However please be aware this parking is available to the public and we cannot guarantee availability. Also keep in mind that some streets have timed restrictions due to residential zoning. There is some handicap parking available directly in front of St. Charles Avenue Baptist Church at 7100 St. Charles Avenue.
The weather in New Orleans during mid-November will probably range from the mid-50s to mid-70s, potentially getting as cold as the mid-40s at night. We highly recommend bringing layers as we will be going in and out of buildings during the day, and we will not be able to control the indoor temperature at our Summit venue.
You will have access to a fitness center at the hotel and we will have some opportunities to walk in nearby parks, so feel free to bring clothes and shoes suitable for the setting.
We also suggest bringing a small umbrella in case of rain.
We will provide cohort members with writing materials, but please bring a journal or other materials if you’d like.
Cohort workshops & outing (Friday & Saturday): casual
Speaker events (Thursday & Friday evening): business casual
Sunday: Church attire
