LEAD, Female Leadership & Mentoring Program

SESSION 2: 1:00pm-1:50pm | F/S | Rooms 217-218 


In this session, you will learn about the LEAD Female Leadership & Mentoring Program. The presenter will share information on what the program is, and its purpose. You will also learn about why leadership programs are essential to a student's success, and our methods for empowering our students to find that inner leader, while also promoting belongingness, and supporting students throughout their academic journey at STCC.


Presenters:

Karolyn Burgos Toribio (pronouns she/her), Community Outreach Counselor for the LEAD Program. Karolyn is an alumni of STCC, and served as the student trustee on STCC’s Board of Trustees for two terms. Her involvement in student government, and various clubs on campus, is an experience that she uses and shares with students today to motivate and mentor them as they find their own journey to their leadership potential, and finish their education here at STCC. 


Rosa Sanchez-Santiago (pronouns She/Her/ Ella) is an Academic and Transfer Counselor for the LEAD program here at STCC. As a 2018 alumna of STCC, Rosa brings direct experience and understanding to her work with students as a Community Outreach Counselor and Success Coach within the Student Success Center. She supports students in their academic success by providing personalized guidance/advising, resources, and connecting students to additional supports. She has a passion for Social Justice, and holds a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies.
