Senior Pathways
There are two major pathways for students in the senior school. The choice of pathway is directed by the attributes of the student and their future goals.
Students who find that they learn best via a hands on, project based, team oriented approach, and whose goals for life after school do not include university, should consider Vocational Majors.
Students who aim to pursue an area that requires a university qualification should pursue VCE.
Below is a summary of the two Senior Pathways available to students.

VETDSS is a compulsory aspect of Vocational Major
Two models offered at St Bede's College;
Subject Based
Vocational Major Subjects or VCE equivalent for Literacy and Numeracy
One VCE Subject
One VETDSS subject
Possibility of Structured Workplace Learning (SWL), however not compulsory
Onsite at St Bede's 5 days per week
Industry Based
Vocational Major Subjects at St Bede's College
One VETDSS subject
Structured Workplace Learning
Onsite at St Bede's College 3 days per week
One day offsite for VETDSS (at external provider)
One day offsite for Structured Workplace Learning (SWL)
Supplementary to both pathways is a VETDSS course undertaken as part of school studies.
Please note that VETDSS is an essential part of the Vocational Major, however can form a subject within the VCE (and contribute to certificate completion and the Student's ATAR).

Year 11 (2025) Direct Entry Accelerated VCE Unit 3-4 Studies Application Form:
To apply for an Accelerated VCE Unit 3-4 Course in 2025 click here.
Please Note: All Accelerated Unit 3-4 Applications are due Monday July 29 at 3pm.
Once the outcome of your application is known, then you should select your subjects. NOTE: Do not select subjects prior to result of application.
