Counseling Services

Counseling Services are offered as an additional support during the school day. Sessions held in school are focused on how a potential mental health or psychosocial issue may be impacting a child's academic or social functioning. Goals set for in school sessions will be directly related to a child's functioning in the classroom and with peers at school. Please note that guidance services utilized in school are not a substitute for external counseling and therapeutic services, but can be used as a way to provide additional support to improve a student's academic success. Guidance services will not be addressing more chronic or pervasive mental health issues that require on going intervention. Parents/guardians, teachers or other school personnel can make a referral for counseling. Services can begin once a parent/guardian signs consent and engages in a phone or in-person meeting regarding the expectations for services. Goals will be reviewed after 4 sessions, and plans for further services will be evaluated.

If you feel your student would benefit from counseling, or if you would like to discuss the program in greater detail please reach out via email (ssolinski@stbartseb.com) and we can schedule a phone, video, or in-person meeting.

Thank you!
