Counseling & Life Skills
October 2025
October is the month for bullying awareness. Life Skills classes will focus on what bullying is, the roles students play, and how to prevent it. Please be aware that our first Parent Engagement session is on Wednesday 10-22-25 at 7PM to further discuss this topic. These sessions are designed to open communication, promote discussion, and provide information on a variety of topics. I am looking forward to seeing you all there!
Life Skills will be held bi-weekly in each classroom, including Pre-K. Lessons follow the CASEL (Collaborative for Academic Social Emotional Learning) standards for Social Emotional Learning (SEL), including topics from the following domains: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. Each month will have a particular focus, and each grade will be learning about the same topic at the appropriate developmental level.
Counseling services continue to be offered during the school day. Please see the "Counseling Services" tab above for additional information. If your student received services during the 2024-2025school year, new consent forms will automatically be sent home. Please note on the form whether you are accepting or declining services for this academic year. It is helpful for me to know whether you will plan to continue services so I can properly arrange my schedule, and ensure a space is available for your student. Please note that frequency of sessions is based on the acuity of the issues presented, however students can always request a session on a week they are not scheduled.
It is my sincere pleasure to be the guidance counselor at St. Bartholomew School. It is a privilege to be part of your student's growth and development, as they journey through these formative years.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me via email with any additional questions or concerns.
