Welcome to 5th Grade Room 202. My name is Suzanne Egan and I am proud to be teaching my thirteenth year at St. Bartholomew School. I am very blessed as St. Bartholomew has been my home parish for forty years. It was in our church that I received my sacraments, got married, and baptized my children. I am also a St. Bartholomew alumni – Class of 1997. I now have the privilege of teaching my former classmates’ children.
After leaving St. Bart’s, I attended St. Thomas Aquinas (formerly Bishop George Ahr) High School in Edison and Hofstra University on Long Island. I have a BA in Speech Language Hearing Science and I received my New Jersey Teaching Certificate after furthering my education at New Jersey City University. Prior to St. Bart’s, I worked with the Middlesex Regional Educational Services Commission as a Speech Language Specialist primarily serving children with autism and developmental disabilities. Most recently, I received my certification as an Orton-Gillingham Classroom Educator to help all students improve their reading skills.
My husband Brian and I have three children, Caleb – 12, Elizabeth – 10, and baby Jude - 2! Caleb is in seventh grade and Elizabeth is in fifth grade at our school. While many of our families remember me as their child's Kindergarten teacher, I am thrilled to be in for another year in fifth grade.
The mission of Saint Bartholomew School is to love, educate, and inspire our children to live the teachings of Jesus Christ.
