Mrs. Danielle Frady's

Fifth Grade Class

Homework

**PLEASE BE ADVISED. Homework is subject to change. Please check back daily for the most current homework. Students are responsible for updating homework in their PLANNERS--will always be the most accurate!**

The mission of Saint Bartholomew School is to love, educate, and inspire our children to live the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Please check the Spelling and Vocabulary tab to study the current week's words. Daily studying of words is expected. Definitions are located in textbooks and written in notebooks. IXL Note: Students must log on to IXL to complete assignments in order for scores to count, using Google Chrome. Each student has the unique password to log into Google Chrome. Please spend at least 30 minutes for each skill. IXL skills are linked to the MAP testing which begins in October. Therefore, practice is very important. PB=practice bookRR=review and resource bookVoyages=grammar

Notes:

  • No Homework for these weeks other than assignments posted in Google Classroom. The instructions below reflect Google Classroom Assignments. Please also read the individual assignment notes in Google Classroom.
  • Each day, we will join as a class in Google Hangout at 9:30 am. Mrs. DePalma will be co-teaching with me. There is no password to enter in. I will be calling/inviting the class' students at this time. Remember to keep mics on silent until you have a questions since many of us will be on at once. :)
  • Beginning on Monday, we will be taking attendance. An appearance in Google Hangout, a simple comment/question, or a submission of work counts as being marked as "Present."

Just another reminder for students to please check Powerschool in order to see your grades and what assignments might be missing. If there is a grade of an 80, you may make corrections by going back to the assignment located in Google Classroom where you submitted, and reading the comments section. Here you are able to see the numbered problems that may be incorrect. Usually there is more reading that is involved, or there was a mistake or typo. If your grade is higher than a C+, you are encouraged to fix mistakes, but the grade may or may not be adjusted depending on some factors. We are not taking off points for work submitted late, but please try to have assignments handed in as soon as possible in order to avoid stress for later.

In addition, please submit all assignments that are graded with a Doc completely filled out, and attached. You will not receive credit for blank Docs. Thank you.

If possible, please have someone take a photo of you learning virtually (working online, drawing or writing for an assignment, etc) and send to my email. All photos will be posted to our class photo gallery! Thank you!

During this time of the Coronavirus, people globally are being encouraged to practice “social distancing” so that we can protect ourselves and each other from becoming sick. This safe practice is temporary and wise, however, it can be very hard for people to not see their loved ones and fellow classmates. It might cause some people to feel lonely. We know that Jesus does not practice social distancing. He loves all of humankind and remains standing alongside us despite our current world situation.

In this exercise, please write about at least one way that you know that God is with you. For example, I took a walk in my backyard and felt God among the sunlight, the birds singing, and the gentle breeze. You might say that you “saw” God in the smile from a neighbor on the opposite side of the street. You can say that you feel God is with you in the encouraging words you receive from your parents and teachers. You can feel the love of God when you pray. God might be in the hope you feel from seeing a butterfly fluttering beside your bedroom window.

Please write at least 7 sentences in a paragraph form, describing where you see or feel God with you. Remember to use correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation!
