Essential Question: Where can you find patterns in nature?
Story/Essay theme: NA

Our Literature Anthology (larger book) selection is: The Story of Snow
Weekly assessments and selection tests:
Weekly assessments and selection tests are administered separately. Weekly assessments will be given monthly, while selection tests will continue every 1.5 - 2 weeks. To study for them, students must re-read the selection once, twice, and three times. Although we do this in class, it will help to re-read at home as well, either using ConnectED or by regular textbook. Students should understand the meaning of vocabulary words, as well as synonyms and antonyms. Students should be able to include the word in a sentence. Students are instructed to choose the best answer to multiple choice items. There may be a few choices that come close. Look for the definition of the word. Definitions are located in the textbook and in our notebooks.
Also look for context clues....words and sentences around what the question is asking. Comprehension skills are located in both the large and small textbooks to study.
While we re-read, 1) use post-its to take out key information or events that support the main idea. 2) answer the book questions on each page along the way. 3) if time allows, answer the questions at the end of the story (we will usually do this for homework).
The mission of Saint Bartholomew School is to love, educate, and inspire our children to live the teachings of Jesus Christ.
