LONDON RESIDENTIAL

Year 5 pupils visit London staying at the YHA by St Paul's Cathedral. They learn about our democracy, culture, history and British Values. They also learn to become more independent and how to organise and take care of themselves. While in London children visit a number of museums including; The Natural History Museum, The Science Museum, The National Gallery and Portrait Gallery to reinforce school based learning. They also visit national monuments including; Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, London Bridge, Tate Modern, The London Eye, Westminster Bridge, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, Downing Street, The Cenotaph, Horse Guards, The Mall, St James's Park and Buckingham Palace. They also watch a musical show often linked to a text that they have read in school e.g. Matilda.
