English:
Sixth graders have been busy reviewing and learning about how to create effective sentences and word choices in their writing. They are learning how to correct sentence fragments, run-on sentences, eliminating extra words, using precise words, and using sensory details in their writing.
They are also reviewing the different sentence types including simple, compound, and complex sentences.
Chapter 3 Test will be this week: Thursday, January 16th
Science:
Sixth graders have just finished up the chapter about Earth's water, and they are moving on to Earth's atmosphere next.
Over the next couple of weeks, they will become familiar with describing Earth's atmosphere and how energy is transferred in the atmosphere.
Then we will move on to air currents and learn more about the importance of our air quality.
