Behavior: In class we use multiple types of reward systems. It’s a great way to keep things positive in our room!
-For individuals, we use punch cards. When your child is following directions, our classroom rules, and/or working hard, they get to earn a punch, collect 10 punches and earn a prize from our prize jar! I use this all day long…so there are plenty of opportunities to earn rewards.
-The special person of the day will be picked in the morning. That student stays anonymous till dismissal time. If he/she was on top of his game all day long, that person will get a prize from the prize jar immediately after the reveal of the name.
- The school mission virtue will be given anytime throughout the day to reward special behaviors.
- Group reward system that targets a specific objective that we need to achieve as a group. Once achieved, special rewards are earned as a group.
Grading: The children will receive a report card three times this year on a 1-4 grading scale. 4- student shows strength and consistently meets or exceeds expectations, 3- student meets grade-level expectations, 2- student needs improvement and requires support to meet expectations, 1- student is not meeting grade-level expectations at this time. Daily papers are checked and returned. I will contact you if there is a need for concern any time throughout the year.
Birthdays: If your child would like to celebrate the day in school with treats please email me ahead of time to make sure there are no other plans and/or other birthdays on the same day. Please send napkins and no whole cakes. Fruit, popsicles, and cookies are always a good choice!
labels: Please label all clothing especially sweaters, P.E. uniforms, lunch boxes, and paper lunch bags.
Uniforms: The children are expected to be in full uniform. Sneakers can be worn with khaki or uniform shorts. Shoes must be worn with jumpers and uniform pants. For more uniform information, please see the handbook.
