Sepsis occurs when an existing infection triggers a chain reaction throughout the body. Given the vulnerability of PALTC residents to Sepsis due to age, comorbidities, and the gradual decline of the immune system as we get older, the ability to recognize symptoms quickly is critical to ensuring timely treatment. The disease is so well-known and widespread that September is officially known as Sepsis Awareness Month. CDC’s avian influenza A(H5N1) (bird flu) materials are available to assist partners in communicating about the ongoing, multistate outbreak. This digital toolkit includes precautions for people with occupational or recreational exposure to infected or possibly infected animals (poultry, dairy cows, and other animals in the United States), and what to do if you develop symptoms. Use the toolkit for sample social media, print materials, and web assets.
