Provider Question:

1) I am an OASIS reviewer for the Visiting Nurse Association, and have an OASIS processing question I hope you can help me with. We completed a Recertification OASIS on our patient, but he went into the hospital during the new certification period before we could see him. The patient passed away in the hospital and no visits were ever made during the new certification period. Do we leave the Recert OASIS and the Transfer OASIS in place? It seems that without a billable visit we don’t actually have a new certification period to begin with, and the episode should be discharged instead.
