Test Your Knowledge Questions:

1) What would be considered “evidence of a microbial process”? 

2) When coding Section O related to medications with 2 drug classes, how would the MDS be coded? For example, Hydroxyzine is used for itching but per drug classes, it is an antihistamine and an anxiolytic. Or Gabapentin which is an anticonvulsant, mood stabilizer and analgesic. If used for pain not anticonvulsant or mood would it still be coded? 

3) With the manual deletion request for number 3 when does this change go into effect for ARD, after 10.1.2024, or if you find an ARD prior but, after 10.1.24? 

4) What is the best practice for coding Section GG? Currently, my facility goes with whatever PT says.
