Following is a description of the 3 report types in Insights: Analytic Report, Configurable Inquiry and Paginated Report. The information helps users understand which type of report best suites their needs.

Analytic Report

Filter and drill down into the data
Run directly in CORE (RPRTLST page)
A dynamic dashboard where you can explore data from different angles.
Compared to infoAdvantage: More interactive and visual; less about static, pre-defined layouts.

Configurable Inquiry

Focus on retrieving raw data quickly
Easy to export for further analysis (e.g., to Excel)
Accessible in CORE (CIMYINQ page)
A fast way to get the underlying data you need.
Compared to infoAdvantage: Similar in the sense of getting data extracts, but more user-configurable for specific data points.

Paginated Report

Designed for fixed layouts and printing
Separated into pages (like infoAdvantage reports)
Ideal for official reporting (financial statements, etc.)
Accessible in CORE (RPRTLST page)
A traditional report that looks the same every time you run it, ready for submission.
Compared to infoAdvantage: The most similar in terms of final output and page-based structure.
