Why are agencies limited to two designated report developers?
Each agency is assigned two report developers to ensure consistent data governance, reduce duplication, and maintain high‑quality reporting standards. This structure helps agencies coordinate their reporting strategy while still empowering broader teams to build their own configurable inquiries in Insights. Unfortunately, we are currently limited by the licensing agreement for Power BI. Each report developer requires a named license, which was not the case with infoAdvantage. Under our current contract, we have a fixed number of licenses, meaning we are unable to provision more at this time.
How can my team access more flexible reporting options in Insights?
Teams can expand their reporting capabilities by using the configurable inquiry features in Insights. These tools enable individuals to create customized inquiries that cater to a wide range of reporting needs without requiring a designated report developer.
What is "Report Copying" and how do I request it?
It’s a request from a Report Developer to copy a StateWide (SW) Power BI report from its central location into the agency’s workspace. Email core.help@state.co.us and provide the exact, full name of the SW report, the full name of the agency workspace you want the report copied to, and the specific folder path inside that agency workspace where the report should be placed.
What is "Report Promotion" and how do I request it?
This is a request from the Report Developer to move (or "promote") a developed report from the agency’s development workspace into the agency’s official folder in the CORE environment. Email core.help@state.co.us and provide the exact, full name of your developed report, the full name of the agency workspace where the report currently is (the source), the folder path inside that source workspace, and the specific folder path within CORE where the report should be moved to (the destination).
Where can users learn how to create configurable inquiries?
Training is available through Insights learning modules, including courses focused on the principles of Insights, creating and managing configurable inquiries, and best practices for sharing them. Job Aids are conveniently located on the Insights Reporting Tool landing page.
Training Content Access:
Agencies unable to access Cornerstone: Please contact core.training@state.co.us for assistance.
Learning Experience Platform (LXP): The LXP has been updated with an improved layout and a new home page to enhance the learning experience.
Note: Users who have not logged in since October 27, 2025, must create a new password to access their account.
Accessing Content: To find the relevant training, search for and select "Insights Pathway."
Why am I receiving an error like this when clicking on a report in CORE? Example: "1 of 1: Exception generating Embedded Token Report "Report Name Here" does not exist on "Workspace Name Here" workspace."
This is due to a Report Developer changing the name of a report within an agency workspace after it has already been promoted to a CORE report folder path. If a Report Developer needs their report name modified, they will need to email core.help@state.co.us with the old full name of the developed report, the new full name of the developed report, the full name of the agency workspace where the report currently is (the source), the folder path inside that source workspace, the specific folder path within CORE where the report should be moved to (the destination).
Why isn’t there training available for creating paginated reports in CORE?
Paginated report development is a highly technical process that requires advanced skills and backend access. To ensure consistency, security, and supportability across agencies, we’ve chosen to centralize paginated report development and focus training efforts on tools that empower users directly—like Configurable Inquiries (CIs) and Analytic reports. These options offer flexible, user-friendly ways to explore and share data without needing deep technical expertise.
If you believe a paginated report is essential for your agency’s needs, please use the CGC request process.
