Scoring Your Bracket

Your bracket is what you will use to determine an overall winner, also known as, the Colorado Champion.

Here's how your bracket will be scored:

Round 1 - 40 points - 10 points for each correct animal that you move into Round 2.

Round 2 - 30 points - 15 points for each correct animal that you move into Round 3.

Round 3 - 30 points - 30 points for correctly choosing the Colorado Champion

Submitting Your Bracket

Fill out the Google Form to the right to submit your bracket by April 1st. Don't forget to click "submit" at the bottom. The three classrooms with the highest scores will win a prize from Colorado Parks and Wildlife!

Understanding your Scorecard

Adaptation - A behavioral or physical characteristic that helps an animal survive in its habitat.

Habitat - The place that provides the animal with its food, water, and shelter.

Food Availability - What does the animal eat and can it be found in their current location?

Important Considerations

The species are to be scored based on their ability to survive in their preferred habitat of Eldorado Canyon State Park, not based on their ability to survive at all. Therefore, a low score does not necessarily mean that the species did not survive. It may just mean that it can no longer survive in its habitat in Eldorado Canyon State Park.
