MakerFaire Hyderabad

MakerFaire Hyd was the first makerfaire organized in India. I was attended the three day event along with Mr. Jogin Francis (Fablab kochi Lab coordinator) to promote the upcoming makerfest kochi that happening along with the kochi binnale in January 2019. We collected contact details of makers, inventors and tech entrepreneurs who would like to exhibit their project/ product at makerfest kochi. Get in touch with other fablabs from india (Vigyan ashram) at makerfaire Hyd. We also attended the Meeting to establish a maker federation in India and iam happy to be part of the makers federation.

Made a Tool Board To Arrange Tools In Wall

Hand tools are not well arranged in Fablab. Most tools are misplaced and it was hard to find when it is needed. This problem will cause missing tools or resting the tools. So I build a Tool Board to arrange the Tools in the Wall. I used a 18mm Rectangle waste Plywood board to build the Tools Board. I placed most of the Tools in the board. So from Now it is just easy to find and place back the tools in the lab in a single point.

Mini Fablab Visit

I Visited Five mini Fablabs In this month. The Purpose of the Visit is as follows.

  • Update the contact details of Lab in charge officer and IEDC nodal officer along with a student contact details from fablab and IEDC summit.
  • Collect details regarding current activities in the mini fablabs
  • Collecting details regarding problems and difficulties in mini fablabs
  • Promoting Fabsaturday and Fab Academy
  • Promoting fabathon Challenge
  • Promoting Makerfest Kochi
  • Feedback from students and faculties

To collect the contact details and shared a google form to fill the details themselves and shared my contact to reach me out for further communication and assistance.

Strand Beast Project

The Team (Nizam and Suhail) started to build a miniature version of a strand beast. To understand the mechanical movement, first we started with a Opensource strand beast design. We made the 3D models by extruding 2D design files that we got . Then simulated in Fusion 360 to verify the design should work. Unfortunately most of the parts used in the current design are not available in the local market. So We made a lot of redesigning and changing design faults in the current designs, it took a lot of time. Then we simulated it again to verify the mechanical workings. There are some faulty movements because we changed the 3mm threaded rod in to 6mm, this leads to double the weight. We tried to find a better alternative for the thread rod like 4 mm thread rod but we could not find any in the local market. So we moved with the 6mm one. We cutout the parts in a 2mm acrylic. Then we partially assembled to verify the mechanical movements will work correctly. As we expected there are some miner problems in the moments.
