The focus of the Middle School Physical Education Program is to provide a comprehensive Health and Physical Education program that is designed to enhance the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development of all students. We do this by providing the knowledge and skills necessary to promote and maintain lifelong wellness. We aim to introduce students to a variety of activities and sports to help them maintain a healthy lifestyle. We believe it is important to stress daily physical activity, teamwork, sportsmanship, and cooperation throughout the year. Our priority is for all of our students to become confident and educated movers that will eventually lead to an active and healthy lifestyle.

Middle School students are required by state law to participate in Physical Education classes. On Physical Education days, it is necessary for students in grades 6-8 to wear comfortable clothes that they can move in as well as sneakers (lace type, not slip-ons). This year is a bit different, students will NOT be changing. Therefore appropriate footwear and being dressed to move is extremely important! Please make sure they are prepared for the weather, as we will be utilizing the outside as much as possible (jacket, hats, gloves, etc.).
If a student needs to be excused from Physical Education class, a written request from the parent/guardian is necessary. Students excused for more than two physical education classes must provide a physician's note.
No jewelry is allowed in class. Valuables should not be brought to class.
