Since 2008 the High School Musical Club has produced High School Musical, The Sound of Music, The Wizard of Oz, Titanic, Grease, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Phantom of the Opera, High School Musical 2, Beauty and the Beast, the Kenny Award Winning Mary Poppins, 42nd Street, The Little Mermaid (Twice!), Newsies and Something Rotten. This year Mamma Mia is coming to the Starpoint stage March 8-10.
Musical Club is for students who can act, sing, and dance. However, all students are encouraged to participate in the many skill areas needed for this club. Dancers are always needed even if you cannot sing or act. Musicians are needed for the pit band. Technical students are trained to run the lights and the sound for the show. Set designers are used as the stage crew during the performance. Students are also needed for makeup, hair, and costume design. And, finally, a group of business leaders will work with the producer for promotions, fund raisers, concessions, and ticket sales. This is a large extracurricular activity that takes up the entire winter athletic season.
